We Welcome the World Reception - Fall 2007
On October 30, 2007, Brock International held its semi-annual We Welcome the World Reception to formally recognize its current participants in the VIP, VIS and UM programs. These international researchers come from a wide variety of countries such as Australia, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Russia and Thailand.
Dr. Terry Boak, Vice-President Academics & Provost, gave a warm welcome speech that highlighted the important role that Brock International plays in the university's internationalization policy. Later on, he and Ms. Kim Meade, Associate Vice-President of Student Services, presented appreciation gifts for the participants and their Brock mentors.
Apart from the program participants, other attendees to the reception were: Dr. Ian Brindle, Interim Associate Vice-President Research; Mr. John Kaethler, Director of International Services; Ms. Sheila Young, Director of Brock International and Mr. Renzo Bautista, Global Health Projects Coordinator.
The guests enjoyed a delectable menu while playing an international trivia game at the reception. Many of the questions were related to the scholar's countries of origin.
